Melles Griot Ltd. has expanded its light-source offerings with the addition of Liconix helium-cadmium lasers. They provide up to 170 mW of output at 442 nm and up to 60 mW at 325 nm, with a choice of beam shapes. HeCd lasers have excellent beam stability in the UV range and are suitable for holographic applications, rapid prototyping in research and development and manufacturing facilities, fluorescence measuring, materials analysis, and testing in fields such as clinical diagnostics, DNA sequencing and electrical engineering.
