Alase Technologies has launched WinLase 3.0 laser marking software, which features a built-in COM automation server for remote operation of laser equipment using scripting languages that can interface with Microsoft Visual Basic, Borland Builder and C++. The company says this feature allows users to customize a graphical user interface without losing the software's functionality. The software has a Truview file converter and can be used to upgrade DOS-based systems. It contains a set of marking tools and can mark TrueType fonts, common bar codes, DataMatrix and graphic files, including bmp, jpg, wmf and dxf.
