Opto Diode Corp. has opened a domestic wafer fabrication facility in Newbury Park, Calif. The global supplier of visible and infrared LEDs has introduced a line of photodiodes and now offers silicon photodetectors and GaAlAs devices. The facility, which features a Class 1000 cleanroom and a 6-in.-wafer line, is designed to produce prototype photodiodes quickly. The company produces both 100- and 150-mm wafers, and offers high-volume production capabilities to its customers.
