Point Source Ltd. has added a 405-nm fiber-coupled diode laser to its iFlex2000 series. Suitable for spinning disk confocal microscopy, high-throughput flow cytometry and semiconductor wafer inspection, the laser delivers 30 mW in a pure Gaussian TEM₀₀ collimated beam from a single-mode polarization-maintaining fiber. It offers high stability and reliability and operates with noise <0.1% rms. It includes a detachable plug-and-play fiber for easy installation, upgrade and field replacement. The laser also can be used for applications such as DVD/CD mastering and optical inspection.
