Pixel Velocity Inc. says that its Silver Bullet reconfigurable image processing system can process images hundreds of times faster than Pentium technology. It can incorporate three Xilinx Virtex-IIPro FPGAs, six PowerPC processors and up to 768 MB of SDRAM. The system includes a full-profile Camera Link input and Gigabit Ethernet and RS-232 I/O for integration of high-performance sensors. The self-contained image-processing engine is lightweight and low-powered, making it suitable for data-intensive and real-time image-processing tasks. Reference frameworks are available.
