High-brightness laser diode arrays from Nuvonyx Inc. provide 100 W of optical output at 95 A for >50% electrical-to-optical conversion efficiency. They are offered in TE polarization at 940 nm and can be provided with the bars on either a 1.6- or 2.1-mm vertical pitch. The arrays have a lifetime >10,000 h when operated in continuous-wave mode or when randomly cycled. The fast-axis lenses produce arrays with a divergence of 0.24° FWHM. Standard laser arrays ranging from a few bars to 30-bar stacks with 3000 W of output are available.
