Southampton Photonics Inc. has launched a second-generation beam collimator for its redPower line of continuous-wave-mode 10- to 100-W fiber lasers. The package size is 34% smaller than the previous model. Other improvements include a fiber break detector, a sophisticated thermal management and cut-out protection system, and typical M² values of <1.1. The beam-delivery optics provide reliable management of on-axis applications where highly reflective materials are processed.
