A laser nanosensor introduced by LMI Technologies (USA) Inc. has a miniature sensor head and a spot size of between 1 and 6 µm for use in tight work spaces for micropositioning and for thickness and roughness measurement applications. It operates at up to 200 kHz, with resolution of 0.7 nm. Four standard models provide a measuring range from 4.0 to 130 µm, operating distances from 2.3 to 26 mm and accuracy from 0.022 to 0.75 nm. Features include two high-grade lenses, a miniature laser diode grating unit, a holographic beamsplitter, an electronics housing powered by ±15 VDC and analog output of distance and intensity. Operating temperature is from 0 to 50 °C.
