Las-Cad GmbH has released version 3.3 of its laser cavity analysis and design software program Lascad. The software takes into account full 3-D temperature distribution obtained from finite element analysis to computer laser power output for three-level systems. It can be downloaded from the company’s Web site, and an example for an end-pumped Yb:YAG crystal can be found in the subdirectory “Examples” in the applications directory.
