Electron-multiplying CCD sensors are incorporated into the sensicam em digital camera system produced by The Cooke Corp. The 12-bit system offers 1004 X 1002-pixel resolution, quantum efficiency of up to 65%, exposure times of 75 µs to 1 h, TE cooling down to −45 °C, low noise and high spectral sensitivity, especially in the near-IR. Applications include night vision, confocal microscopy, security, spectroscopy, imaging of biomarkers, and low-light, fluorescence and bio- and chemiluminescence imaging.
