An 808-nm air-cooled version of the Sirilas laser diode has been released by Osram Opto Semiconductors for mobile applications that require less output than the water-cooled version delivers. An integrated lens produces an almost parallel beam with a typical vertical divergence of 1.5° full angle. Chips with other wavelengths, from 800 to 1000 nm, can be integrated into the package. The module contains a laser bar comprising 16 emitters that can be individually replaced.
It is suitable for pumping Nd:YAG lasers used in marking, engraving, cosmetic treatment, and mobile medical equipment for ophthalmology
and dentistry.
