Phoenix Photonics has launched polarization controllers that offer cost-effective manual or external electronic control of the state of polarization. Each of three waveplate sections provides a full cycle of the Poincaré sphere, and each is independently varied by a control knob or an analog 0 to 10-V input voltage. The single-channel model has fixing holes for mounting onto an optical bench. The eight-channel version is available in a 19-in. rack format, and control can be switched between manual front-panel and external analog voltage input.
