Unibrain Inc.'s GOF (glass optical fiber) Repeater800 for FireWire users extends the 800-Mb/s transmission of the 1394b bus to up to 550 m over fiber optic cable. Each unit has two backward-compatible 1394 bilingual copper ports and one optical port with either an MT-RJ or an LC-type connector. Measuring 94.45 X 25.10 X 85.61 mm, weighing 266 g and operating from 0 to 70 °C, the repeater is housed in galvanized steel painted with polyester powder and runs on both PC and Macintosh.
