Inspector 5111, a high-resolution, compact sensor system, is offered by Philips Applied Technologies for product-inspection applications. The preprogrammed digital camera can capture 1280 X 1024-pixel images at 27 Hz and comes equipped with two FireWire connectors for daisy chaining, and with a trigger input, two independent flash outputs and a VGA monitor output. With a CPU operating at 143 MHz, it can run vision applications alone; a PC is required for configuration only. At start-up, the included software guides the user through five simple setup sheets for defining multiple test criteria.
