UniCad Inc. offers version 4.0 of its UniMCO computer-aided design software for LEDs, organic LEDs, resonant-cavity LEDs, vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers and optical coatings. The software includes a library containing commonly used microcavity structures and a materials database with more than 250 entries, including models for the effects of thermal and compositional variations. An EL0 module extracts the true light input spectrum from the experimental data collected on a test structure, removing the weak microcavity effect resulting from interfaces and enabling more accurate simulations of the output of a device.
