Launched by PixeLink, the PL-A742 is a 1280 X 1024-resolution color CMOS camera with 8- or 10-bit depth, a FireWire interface and a global shutter. It operates at 27 fps at full resolution and has a dynamic range of 54.6 dB and photoresponse nonuniformity of <1.5%. The camera is supplied with PixeLink Capture OEM software, and a software development kit is available as an option. It measures 35 X 50 X 100 mm, weighs 160 g and runs on Windows 2000/XP.
