P&P Optica Inc. has launched a line of multichannel spectrometers that use volume phase holographic transmission diffraction gratings and refractive optics to provide low-noise, high-resolution spectral acquisition. They operate from 350 to 2500 nm and can image up to 140 channels simultaneously. Dispersed spectra from multifiber input are projected onto a 2-D detector, creating a separate spectrum for each fiber. The number of available channels is limited by the length of the slit that can be imaged on the detector array, the diameter of the applied fibers and the distance between the fibers selected.
