For applications including nonlinear optics, pumping of optical parametric oscillators, quantum communications and optical sampling, Precision Photonics Corp. is offering fiber lasers with a repetition rate of 40 MHz, pulse duration of <100 fs and peak power of >10 kW. Timing jitter is <150 fs from 100 Hz to 10 MHz. With an output wavelength centered around 1560 nm, the lasers incorporate an all-fiber-integrated element composed of telecommunications components and a dispersion management scheme to produce nearly transform-limited pulses and offer stable turnkey performance. The oscillator design is an outgrowth of proprietary precision metrology for the manufacture of telecommunications micro-optics and of the company’s work under the NIST Advanced Technology Program involving ultrahigh-stability fiber-laser-based frequency-comb devices. Options include additional output at 780 nm, supercontinuum generation from 1200 to 1800 nm and synchronization to external clocks.
