Prosilica Inc. is offering its GE series Gigabit Ethernet cameras for machine vision, industrial inspection, traffic monitoring and public security applications. They conform to the draft AIA “GigE Vision” standard. The cameras send non-compressed digital images at high frame rates over standard Gigabit Ethernet hardware with cable lengths of up to 100 m. Four CCD camera models are available, achieving resolution ranging from VGA to 2 megapixels and full-resolution rates of up to 200 fps. Color models come with onboard color interpolation. Features include region-of-interest readout of arbitrary size and shape, and square binning modes of up to 8 × 8 pixels. A software development kit and viewer program are available for customers to integrate the cameras into their applications.
