Liekki Corp. has announced the latest version of its Application Designer simulation software. LAD v3.1 includes tools for designing systems that employ large-mode-area fibers and for low- to high-power fiber laser and amplifier simulation. New features include multimode propagation, user-defined refractive index profile and fiber bending effects, such as mode-field distortion and power loss. The software can simulate fiber amplifiers and lasers using conventional fibers as well as the company’s direct nanoparticle deposition fibers, such as radial doping and refractive index profiles. Transient calculations, Monte Carlo analysis and nonlinear effects threshold power also are featured.
