Headwall Photonics Inc. has released hyperspectral imaging instruments for pharmaceutical analysis and life sciences applications. The Hyper-spec-VNIR, which images from 400 to 1000 nm with a 1.25-nm bandpass, is available in two configurations. The C series offers a spectral resolution of 1.29 nm, an electronic global shutter with exposure times from 5 µs to 65 s, a PCI interface, a 69.5-dB dynamic range and a capture rate of 12 fps or 23 fps with 2× vertical binning. The D series provides 2.4-nm spectral resolution, an on-chip shutter with exposures from 25 µs to 1 s, a Camera Link interface and 60 fps or 223 fps with 8 × 8 binning. The Hyperspec-NIR X series captures 60 or 100 fps from 900 to 1700 nm with exposure times from 1 µs to 5 min, a dynamic range of 69-dB low gain and 60-dB high gain, and USB 2.0, LVDS and Camera Link interfaces.
