Optiwave Systems Inc. and EM Photonics Inc. have announced the availability of OptiFDTD Max. The desktop hardware/software system performs finite-difference time-domain simulations and is powered by EM Photonics’ Celerity acceleration technology, resulting in the computation power of a 25- to 50-node PC cluster. Combined with Optiwave’s OptiFDTD software suite, the workstation runs FDTD simulations at high computer speeds. It is used for the design and simulation of advanced passive and nonlinear photonic components.
