The XLR8-15 two-axis, 15-mm packaged scan head launched by Nutfield Technology Inc. is designed to facilitate integration into manufacturing environments by reducing the need for specialized tooling. The device features the company’s Quantum-Scan-10 galvanometers with ceramic rotor technology for high performance. Typical marking speed is 400 characters per second. High-quality hybrid/ceramic ball bearings provide a long operating life. The heads can be configured for a number of wavelengths and are available with digital and analog electrical interface options. Applications include marking, engraving and cutting.
