For use in medical applications such as ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry, varicose vein treatment, and enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of lung and brain tissue,
Quintessence Photonics Corp. has announced the next generation of its BrightLase semiconductor laser modules. They deliver up to 35 W and are available at 795, 808, 976, 1064 and 1380 nm and are supplied either in a fiber-coupled configuration with fiber diameters down to 200 μm or without a fiber, so that the laser beam is delivered in a collimated output through an exit window. The lasers can be used directly or as engines for pumping multistage-fiber and solid-state systems.
