Prior Scientific has unveiled the NanoScanZ piezo stage for microscope automation. Features include 100- or 200-μm travel, 1-nm repeatability, differential interference contrast capability and an ultrafast rotary focus drive. The closed-loop control uses a subangstrom-resolution piezo resistive sensor, and a lower mass movement decreases movement and settling times. Users can attain additional flexibility by creating Z-stacks with multiple objectives. The system is designed for researchers using deconvolution and 3-D imaging.
