A high-intensity fiber-coupled UV/VIS light source for spot curing adhesives, coatings and inks is available from Ushio Europe BV. Suitable for applications in forensic sciences and nondestructive testing, the Ultranova 200 can be equipped with a variety of liquid or quartz lightguides and with lamps that are optimized for the UV-B or UV-A, or for emission in the VIS range. Up to three different optical filters can be inserted to tailor the emission spectrum to specific applications. The device can be operated via computer interface, via optional foot pedal or via the remote control unit. It has a pull-out drawer to accommodate lamp and filter replacements. The 200-W short-arc metal halide lamp has an operating lifetime of 2000 h.
