Cedip Infrared Systems has released a Windows-based control and command software console for management of security networks. Sentinel controls multisensor turrets such as the company’s Pharos series, allowing the operator to select the sensor in use, to adjust zoom and focus, and to select a preset position or launch automatic scanning. A virtual joystick controls pan and tilt movement. The console can display and control the video stream received over an Ethernet link from cameras in the security network. The user can display a map of the surveillance perimeter and can locate equipment installed in the network. The software can be set to automatically display the location of a potential intrusion triggered by an alarm generated by any of the sensors.
