The 56 RCS free-space diode lasers with output at 408 nm (>50 mW), 442 nm (>36 mW) or 638 nm (>28 mW) have been announced by Melles Griot’s Laser Group. Based on proprietary 56 ICS technology, they are designed for OEM and end-user applications, such as reprographics, fluorescence and metrology. They incorporate advanced optics positioning techniques that provide repeatable and consistent optical performance with far-field circularity of >95%, precisely controlled beam divergence and accurate waist location. A new interface includes an hour meter and diagnostic LEDs and lets the operator control both the laser and the thermoelectric cooler current. All are available with inputs for digital and analog modulation with a bandwidth of >300 MHz and rise/fall time of <1 ns.
