MT9P001, a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor released by Micron Technology Inc., is designed for use in digital still camera, camera phone and PDA applications. Equipped with proprietary low-noise, high-sensitivity DigitalClarity technology, it outputs sharp, clear and vibrant images while extending a device’s battery life, the company says. The sensor operates at 12 fps with full 2592 × 1944-pixel resolution and at up to 30 fps in preview mode. Its on-chip 12-bit analog-to-digital converter delivers high-quality raw images. Features include viewfinder and snapshot modes, programmable gain and exposure control, a two-wire serial interface, global reset and binning for enhanced viewing.
