Prosilica Inc. has expanded its line of industrial FireWire cameras with the release of the ultracompact EC1600 CCD progressive-scan models. The 2-megapixel cameras produce 1620 × 1220-pixel resolution and operate at 15 fps, or faster with region-of-interest readout. They are available in monochrome and color versions. Features include global shutter, 2 × 2 binning, a 1 1/8-in. Sony sensor, and external trigger and synchronization. The cameras measure 38 × 33 × 46 mm, weigh 84 g and are DCAM-compliant. They work with a variety of third-party software as well as with the company’s SDK and software. Applications include LCD panel inspection, machine vision and semiconductor imaging.
