The Silicon Video 642M monochrome and 642C color camera systems manufactured by Epix Inc. include a plug-and-capture camera, a PIXCI SI PCI bus frame grabber, a cable and XCAP-Lite imaging software. The systems operate at 204 fps with 640 pixels X 480 lines resolution, and at up to 19,600 fps with 640 pixels X 4 lines resolution. Shutter speeds of 20 µs provide sharp images of high-speed motion. Applications include particle tracking, kinematics, collision studies and high-speed inspection, as well as biological image, sports and ballistics analysis.
