Ametek Creates Materials Analysis Div.
Ametek Inc. of Paoli, Pa., has combined recently acquired Spectro Analytical Instruments GmbH & Co. KG of Kleve, Germany, and Edax of Mahwah, N.J., formerly a unit of the company’s Process & Analytical Instruments Div., to form its Materials Analysis Div. The division produces arc/spark and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers. The parent company will leverage the business’s manufacturing operations, technological capabilities and distribution system to provide analytical instrumentation for the environmental, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, electronics and forensic science markets.
