Fujitsu and Mitsui Launch Optical Device Venture
Fujitsu Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Tokyo have provided venture capital to establish an optical device company, QD Laser Inc. Using Fujitsu’s technology, QD Laser will offer quantum dot lasers to the optical telecommunications light source market for use in optical access and local area networks within buildings. Mitsui will support the enterprise through strategic planning, operational management, capitalization and fund-raising as well as global marketing of its technologies.
