LASER DIODE DRIVERS
Lydya computer-controlled laser diode drivers manufactured by
Laselec Inc. control complete laser systems safely and provide them with long service lives. Quasi-CW models for pulsing currents and CW for direct currents control diodes, diode bars and stacks, with power varying from a few watts to several kilowatts. A system connects to the diode terminals to short-circuit them when they are not in use or are not connected to the driver, and protects them from reverse currents and transient effects. The drivers, which have an integrated programmable current start-up ramp, protect laser diodes from current overshoots with a high-power circuit for precise adjustable regulation. An optional temperature controller can be embedded to shield the diodes against temperature spikes.
