Cognex Corp. has announced the In-Sight 5400R, a remote-head camera version of the company’s industrial-grade vision sensor. Suitable for applications where mounting space is limited or a lightweight camera is required, the device is about the size of a C-cell battery and weighs less than 2.5 oz. The camera, which can be separated from its processor by up to 15 m via cable, meets IEC specifications for shock and vibration and is rated to withstand dust and wash-down. The system includes a library of vision software for automatic identification, gauging, inspection and alignment tasks.
