ViTechnology has announced the Vision 2006 software platform for its line of automated optical inspection equipment. Built on a modular architecture, it allows the selection of application-specific tools. Features include CAD data import, line quality management tools, program optimization, a redesigned graphical user interface, repair tools, and embedded or external SPC tools. The program supports applications such as postprint 2-D/3D, pre- and post-reflow, post-wave and backplane inspection. It includes the company’s Match Maker tool library search engine, as well as Profiler technology that uses algorithms in combination with a proprietary color lighting source to detect lifted leads, total or partial lack of solder, impurities and coplanarity defects.
