Systematix AB has released version 2.0 of its Peax database software for atomic and molecular spectroscopy. It includes an improved user interface, and it enables interactive and graphic identification and plotting of elements and molecules in a given spectrum. It is suitable for use by scientists working in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma, plasma diagnostics, arc, spark, combustion and flame emission applications. The element database is the atomic spectra database from NIST and contains more than 88,000 records. The molecular database contains more than 7200 records from more than 230 of the most common diatomic and triatomic molecules. Features include an internal spectral viewer, line and band information, and automatic peak and band structure identification.
