A family of Camera Link frame grabbers based on the PCI Express standard is available from Leutron Vision Inc. The PicPort-Express-CL devices are based on a field-programmable gate array and can be upgraded in the field. They support area- and line-scan cameras with Power over Camera Link, color and monochrome sensors, extensive input/output signal management, Windows NT/ 2000/XP/2003, Linux and VxWorks. Applications include web inspection, medical imaging, industrial inspection and machine vision. Line-scan support includes start and stop triggers, unlimited buffer size, no data loss between buffer switches, and reverse direction handling with bidirectional encoders. Optional preprocessing functions include Bayer pattern decoding, and gain and offset correction.
