An associate’s degree in laser manufacturing will soon be offered by Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Conn. The college’s board of trustees recently approved the program. The curriculum includes courses in optics, laser physics and specialized laser electronics. The National Science Foundation has supported the program with faculty assistance for course development and with the purchase of an Epilog large-format laser engraver.
