The Comsol Multiphysics 3.3 software is designed to expand simulation and virtual prototyping of physics-based systems to a broader range of applications in various fields of science, research and engineering. Available from Comsol Inc., it offers a greater number of predefined multiphysics couplings and a graphical user interface that features a menu-tree view of all aspects of a model and that can be navigated to inspect and modify features and settings. It enables interactive meshing and merging of components to build models. It handles CAD assemblies, supports the multiphysics analysis of surface contact and includes gains toward fully automatic solver selection. Its material database can be expanded.
