Innovative Laser und Systemtechnik GmbH has announced the Mephisto MOPA, a diode-pumped solid-state master oscillator power amplifier that provides ≤10 W of output power at 1064 nm. The continuous-wave laser features a nonplanar ring oscillator that supplies <1 MHz/min frequency stability and near-diffraction-limited beam quality of M² <1.1. The compact system provides >30-GHz frequency tuning that is controlled by fast and slow modulation inputs at the laser head and electronics, respectively, and linear polarization with an extinction ratio of >20 dB. It is suitable for use as a pump source for optical parameter oscillators, and for second harmonic generation, frequency mixing, optical cooling and traps, precision interferometry and lidar systems.
