Contaminant-free optical lapping pitch that melts and pours without screening or mixing is available from Meller Optics Inc. The all-natural Gugolz pitch is offered in five hardness grades, from very soft to very hard, with melting points from 52 to 87 °C. Made from wood resin, it will not contaminate the polishing media or the substrate, and it is suitable for blocking, lapping and polishing applications. It is supplied in 1-kg containers packaged 12 per box.
