Boeing and US Air Force Redirect Laser Beam

Using their aerospace relay mirror system, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems of St. Louis, and the US Air Force have demonstrated that a laser beam can be redirected to hit a target. Suitable for use with air-, ground- or sea-based high-energy lasers, the system is expected to reduce the atmosphere’s effect on laser beams, to extend a laser’s range beyond the line of sight, and to enable the destruction of ballistic missiles and other targets.
