The GC series Gigabit Ethernet cameras have been launched by Prosilica Inc. Measuring 4.3 × 4.6 × 3.3 cm and weighing 99 g, the GigE Vision-compliant cameras are suitable for semiconductor inspection, avionics and robotic applications. They feature region-of-interest readout, binning modes to 8 × 8 pixels, high frame rates, on-camera color interpolation, a software development kit and various color output modes, including RGB. The Ethernet interface delivers sustained data rates of 125 MB/s on standard Ethernet cable up to 100 m long. The data rate can be adjusted for operation over slower network links. The cameras can be used for machine vision applications such as quality assurance and symbol reading.
