Optiwave Systems Inc. has introduced OptiBPM 8, a software design suite for waveguide optics engineers. According to the company, this version offers advanced LP and vector mode solvers for circular fibers as well as powerful optimization engines and increased simulation performance, operating 50 percent faster than its predecessors. It can import DXF and GDSII mask file formats.
