Photon Inc. has unveiled the FireWire BeamPro series high-dynamic-range beam profilers. Operating with an IEEE-1394 interface, they do not require a frame grabber card, enabling them to be moved easily among various computers. Model 2523 includes a 2/3-in.-format CCD with 6.45-μm pixels, and model 2512 has a 1/2-in.-format CCD with 8.3-μm pixels. Both models measure continuous-wave and pulsed beams over the 190- to 1100-nm range. Nominal dynamic range of the devices is 72 dB at 12 bits of digitization and up to 144 dB at ∼24 bits when extended-range imaging is used. The instruments measure 49 × 62 × 62 mm.
