Manufacturer: NovaWave Technologies’
BEAM COMBINER/SPLITTER

NovaWave Technologies’ polarization beam combiner/splitter combines two orthogonal polarization signals into one output fiber. It is used to combine the light of two pump lasers into a single fiber to double the pump power to an erbium-doped fiber amplifier or to a Raman amplifier. The instrument also can be used as a beamsplitter. Center wavelengths are 1310, 1480 and 1550 nm, with an operating wavelength range of ±40 nm. Insertion loss is 0.4 dB, typical, and 0.6 dB, maximum. Minimum extinction ratio for the beamsplitter is 22 dB. Maximum continuous-wave optical power is 500 mW, and operating temperature is –5 to 70 °C.
