Volpi USA’s surface-mount-device LED-based bright-field ringlights are available with either red or white LEDs. The standard version has a working distance from 30 to 80 mm, and the diameter of the illuminated area ranges from 110 to 160 mm. A focused version, which maintains a 90-mm diameter of illumination over a working range of 50 to 100 mm, also is available. The company says that the lights reduce shadows and offer greater brightness and uniformity as well as increased image clarity and life expectancy. The compact devices operate over a temperature range from 0 to 50 °C and are suitable for automated inspection applications.
