Silicann Technologies GmbH has enhanced the functionality of its PCS-II color sensor with an additional recognition mode that can safely check all variants of color sequences. The sensor simulates the way in which humans process colors and estimate deviations, and its color tolerance can be adjusted precisely to bring it in line with human perception. The sensor performs color processing by XYZ, xyY, DIN 99, L*a*b and L*u*v and offers 12-bit signal processing, ambient light suppression and signal gain steps of 1, 5, 25 and 100. It includes a 1-W high-power white-light LED, and RS-232 and USB interfaces.
