Hyphenated Systems LLC has released a confocal imaging module for its 3Dmap systems, which provide 3-D structural metrology for developers and manufacturers of microfluidic devices. The module can be retrofitted to existing systems. The company says that it was developed in response to customers’ demands for larger fields of view and enhanced Z-axis resolution. Advanced confocal imaging uses a spinning disk with multiple confocal apertures to provide parallel data collection pathways for image acquisition at speeds higher than scanning confocal techniques can achieve.
